Tin plate maker PT Pelat Timah Nusantara Tbk (Latinusa), subsidiary of Indonesia's largest steel manufacturer PT Krakatau Steel, booked a net income of Rp55 billion in the first half of 2010 or 61.11% of the net income target in 2010 worth Rp90 billion.
Latinusa Finance Director Erwin said the company's profits surged 223.53% compared to same period last year listed only Rp17 billion.
He is optimistic that Latinusa's ability to meet the target of 2010 net income worth Rp90 billion, a 114.34% jump from the previous year of Rp41,99 billion.
Latinusa also booked sales of Rp700 billion or 53.85% of its sales target to the end of 2010 amounted to Rp1, 3 trillion.
As he said, at the end of this year or early 2011, Latinusa will supply 30,000 tons - 40,000 tons of tin plate into Australia.
Currently Latinusa has a production capacity of 130,000 tons per year in sheets and rolls tin that can be used for cans to domestic and export markets.
