Lonsum CPO sales volume falls 3%

Publicly listed CPO player PT PP London Sumatra Indonesia Tbk (Lonsum) today reports a 3% decrease in CPO sales volume during the first half of this year (1H 2010) from 164,265 tons in 1H 2009 to 159,257 tons on the back of lowering in CPO production.
In a public statement submitted to Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Lonsum's CPO production fell 4% from 165,862 tons in 1H 2009 to 159,247 tons due to heavy rainfall in South Sumatra in the first quarter of this year that affected fresh fruit bunch transportation.
Palm kernel sales volume also shrank 6.8% to 38,861 tons in 1H 2010, while rubber sales volume dropped 13.1% from11,189 tons to 9,725 tons in 1H 2010.
