Sebastian Paredes to join DBS Group

DBS Group Holding appointed former President Director PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk Juan Eugenio Sebastian Paredes Muirraqui to be CEO DBS Hong Kong, replacing predecessor Amy Yip.
CEO DBS Group Piyush Gupta, as reported by Bisnis.com today, stated in a press release yesterday that Amy Yip will retire by the end of the year.
As per March 31 2010, Temasek Holdings holds 28% shares in DBS Group. Gupta said that the assignation of Paredes will be effective per September 13 2010 and it needs to be approved by the regulator.
Paredes obtains a Banchelor of Science from Business Administration/Finance Department of California State University-Fresno CA, US.
The Ecuadorian also holds Master International in Business Administration from Business Administration Department of Instituo de Empresa Madrid, Spanish.
His 25-year career as a banker was completed in various institutions. From 2005 through April 2010, he served as Managing Director Sub-Sahara Afrika Citigroup Country Officer, South Africa in Bank Citigroup South Africa.
From 2000 through 2001, he held the position of Vice President Cluster Head for Turkey and Israel Citigroup Country Officer Turkey in Citigroup Turkey. During 1997-2000, he served as the Vice President Citigroup Country Officer in Bank Citigroup Ecuador.
From 1992 to 1997, Paredes held the position of Vice President and Regional Head Bank Citibank Guayaquil, Ecuador.
