BWPT Jan. CPO output surges 69%

Middle-size palm oil producer PT BW Plantation Tbk (BWPT), controlle by Widodo family, reportdly a hefty production of both fresh fruit bunch FFB) and crude palm oil in January of this year.
In an official statement submitted to Indonesia Stock Exchange last Friday, BW Plantation's FFB surged 68.90% to 38,708 tons in January 2011 from 22,917 tons a year ago.
In line with FFB output increase, CPO also rose 69.01% to 8,868 tons from 5,247 tons. Palm kernel soared 64.54% to 1,471 tons from 894 tons. However, January's FFB slightly declined 9.57% frp, 42,806 tons in December last year. 
CPO also retreated 13,39% from 10,239 tons in December last year. According to BWPT Corporate Secretary Kelik Irwantono said the FFB output rise last month was mainly in line with the additional of mature area last month.
"Of total planted area 52,060 hectares, mature are will reach 19,663 hectares this year. In fact, mature area last year reached 15,270 hectares," he said.
Kelik said the company made new plantation of 10,612 hectares last year, consisting of 8,895 hectares of nucleus and 1,717 hectares of plasma.
With the additional planting, planted area at end of 2010 reached 52,060 hectares, consisting of 48,197 hectares of nucleus and 3,863 hectares of plasma.
